How EU landed cost is estimated

  1. Customs value = goods value + shipping and insurance to the EU border.
  2. Duty = customs value × duty rate (from TARIC for your CN code and origin).
  3. Import VAT = (customs value + duty) × the destination member state's VAT rate.
  4. Landed cost = goods + shipping + duty + VAT.

For low-value B2C parcels up to €150, the tool applies the €3 flat customs duty introduced from 2026-07-01 as an interim measure, instead of the percentage duty.

Standard VAT rates

The tool includes the standard VAT rate for each of the 27 member states (reference data, mid-2026). Reduced rates, special regimes and IOSS handling can change the result; check with your tax adviser.

Where to confirm the duty rate

Use the TARIC and Access2Markets buttons: they open the official EU databases with your code and origin so you can read the exact rate, preferential terms and import conditions.
